KIDS CLASSES

This course has been designed to teach children how to draw by developing their right brain function and teaching them the skills and techniques used by artists.  In the mid to late primary years many children are yearning to improve their drawing skills, they wish to move away from that special naive style of drawing of early childhood and are striving to draw more "realistically", often getting frustrated and sometimes giving up on art if they cannot achieve results they are happy with.  That's the bridge this course is designed to help them over, by systematically building skill at an achievable pace with each piece of artwork introducing new techniques and often new materials such as soft pastel, oil pastel, graphite pencil, charcoal, coloured pencil and watercolour pencil.  (All art materials are provided).  We often use photographs as references and also draw from life.  This strong foundation in drawing is invaluable to students wishing to pursue other creative arts, particularly painting, as well as design and technology subjects.
